At our recent AGM on Sunday, 27 March 2022 we were delighted to present
Daniel Martin with a Musical Theatre New Zealand Merit Award.
These awards are to honour people for outstanding achievement and contribution to musical theatre in our communities.
At only 36 years of age Daniel has already been involved for a solid 25 years as he has been part of nearly every show in some way or another since his first appearance on stage in 1997. With only a few exceptions, if he hasn’t been on stage, Daniel has helped out backstage, or front of house, and has even dabbled in assisting with lighting, production management, and direction.
A member of the MTO Committee since 2009, Daniel was president for 5 years - though it really is his love of musical theatre itself that been a driving force behind his involvement in, and passion for, Musical Theatre Oamaru for the past 25 years.
Long may it continue!
