Musical Theatre Oamaru wanted to encourage youngsters with an interest in musical theatre to get involved,
and with that in mind, the M.T.O Children's Theatre was a born and had its inaugural show in 2012.
During the first school holidays each year (approx March/April) a Children's Theatre production takes place.

As we generally cast age 14 upwards for our major productions, the Children's Theatre is aimed at kids under 14. If your child has an interest in musical theatre - whether it be performing on stage, or helping out backstage, then joining the M.T.O.C.T is a great place nurture that enthusiasm. The 2015 MTO Children's Theatre show was a modern take on 'Aladdin' and was performed in the Ink Box at the Oamaru Opera House.
